Operational & Procedural Challenges

These issues typically stem from inefficient management systems or unintentional human error within the workplace.

  • Overbooking: A critical error where a guest arrives only to find no room is actually available. This often leads to significant frustration and a deep sense of disappointment.

  • Missing Reservations: Despite having a confirmation, the guest’s booking cannot be found in the system. This is usually caused by communication gaps between the hotel and booking agencies.

  • Rooms Not Ready for Check-in: Guests often arrive exhausted at the standard check-in time, only to be told they must wait in the lobby for an extended period because their room isn’t ready.

  • Billing Discrepancies: Guests may encounter unexpected charges on their final bill, such as items from the minibar they didn’t consume, rates that don’t match their initial booking, or charges mistakenly posted from another room.
